Irvington Student Council
The Irvington Student Council is made of elected and appointed student leaders that represent the student voice on the Irvington Campus.
The responsibilities of the student Council are outlined below:
- Approve student fundraisers and expenditures.
- Approve club charters.
- Represent Student Voice in meetings with admin.
- Plan, organize or coordinate with all student school events.
- Promote and cultivate the Blue Crew Culture.
The process and timeline to get into student council varies based on the committee and position you apply for. Each student council member serves on a committee outlined below.
Executive Cabinet
The executive cabinet is responsible for organization and structure of the entire student council. Because of this responsibility each member of the executive cabinet must have one year of experience in leadership before applying.
ASB President & ASB VP (Elected): Application due November, Election and interview in December.
CEO, Treasurer & Secretary (Appointed): Application due December, interview in December.
Class Officers
Primary Responsibilities: Organize and run class council meetings and bondings, plan spirit week, class fundraisers, prom fundraisers, prom, graduation and senior cruise,
Senior CO, Junior CO and Soph CO (Elected): Application due Dec, Election and interview in Jan.
Fresh CO (Appointed): Application due Jan, interview in late Jan

Finance Committee
Primary Responsibilities: Run the Viking Vendor, train students in cash procedures, maintain student budget, order merchandise and supplies, help school clerk print checks, set up cash boxes for fundraisers.
Treasurer (Appointed)(Lead): Application due November, Election and interview in December.
Committee Member (Appointed): Application due Jan, interview in late Jan.
Procedural Committee
Primary Responsibilities: Ensure that the student council follows the constitution, maintains school calendar of events and facilities, approves and holds events and ad hocs accountable. Provides feedback to help ASG events improve.
Secretary (Appointed)(Lead): Application due November, Election and interview in December.
Committee Member (Appointed): Application due Jan, interview in late Jan.
Clubs Committee
Primary Responsibilities:
- Club approval process
- Club informational meetings; directs creating meeting agendas
- Coordination of club events
- Enforce club activity and compliance to club regulations
- Ihsvikings.org upkeep on clubs subsection
- Minga activity upkeep
Club Executive (Appointed)(Lead): Application due November, Election and interview in December.

Service in Action Committee
Primary Responsibilities:
- Spearhead blood drive and help committee members plan large scale service events
- SIA club approval and meeting process
- Campus beautification project
- Manage Jefferson blog and report
Service Executive (Appointed)(Lead): Application due November, Election and interview in December.
Committee Member (Appointed): Application due Jan, interview in late Jan.
Viz & Media Committee
Primary Responsibilities:
- Creates ASG publicity schedule
- Assists in the creation of the weekly Minga newsletter
- Delegating and creating fliers/videos/other media content
- Maintaining all ASG social media accounts and ensures consistent updates across all platforms and touchpoints, including offline platforms

Public relations Committee
Primary Responsibilities:
- Spearheads student and staff recognition efforts
- Updates Alumni Network and maintain connections with Irvington alumni
- Head for Open House, Back-to-School Night, Parent-Teacher Conferences and Staff Appreciation Week
- Plans Horner Outreach and encouraging Horner ASB to be involved in Irvington community

Rally Committee
Primary Responsibilities:
- Creates a minute-to-minute agenda/schedule for a rally
- Seeks to find acts and different involvement in rallies
- Hosts and plans run-throughs/auditions for acts
- Creates and delegates decoration plan
- Comes up with games/activities that are fun and inclusive
- Gathers all audio and technology used in a rally
- Recruits/contacts season sports and national anthem singer(s)

AV & Tech Committee
Primary Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:
Sports Executive (Appointed)(Lead): Application due November, Election and interview in December.

Interns
Primary Responsibilities: Assists the Student Activities Director in all areas, including but not limited to distribution of school pictures, updating school website, maintaining storage room, managing print station, ordering of new supplies, filing documents, and maintaining tech equipment. In addition interns are asked to come up with projects based on their own interests and passions to better serve the student body of the school.
