Associated Student Government

The student government at Irvington High School comprises elected and appointed student leaders who serve the student body. Our class is organized into committees to enhance the student experience.

The Big Three

The big three are responsible for developing the vision and goals of the Student Government and collaborating with the executive team to ensure that the leadership team remains accountable to the class’s objectives. To be eligible for these positions, candidates must currently be members of the ASG.

Class Officers

Each grade level is represented by two class officers who oversee their respective class councils. These councils are responsible for organizing Homecoming with bench-building sessions, planning spirit days, and coming up with a lip-sync performance. Additionally, Class Officers hold class activities throughout the the year like bondings, fundraisers, and more spirit days. Other spirit week include Winter Week, Versus Week, Multicultural Week, and Love Vikings Week. Class officers are involved in fundraising for Prom, with Senior and Junior class officers planning the event and cruise, respectively. Senior class officers also contribute to graduation planning, while Junior and Sophomore class officers assist with Senior Awards.

Finance

The Finance Committee is responsible for managing the entire student budget at IHS. This includes collaborating with all the committees, Ad Hoc chairs, and clubs to ensure budgets are set and followed throughout the school year. In addition to this, the committee oversees fundraising efforts for both ASG and clubs, assisting and providing structure to different fundraisers within the school. This team also operates the Viking Vendor, managing and advertising the merch that is sold, and collaborating with clubs to assist them in selling on the web store.

Procedurals

Led by the ASG Secretary, the Procedurals Team maintains and updates the IHS and ASG student calendar to  student calendar to ensure proper scheduling for events, clubs, and projects. Aside from this, This team supports and manages all Ad Hocs, and is in charge of Ad Hoc approval. They also help prepare and execute weekly business meetings, and manages ASG birthday and holiday recognitions as well.

Visualizations

The Visualizations team manages all ASG social media accounts and ensures consistent updates across all platforms and touchpoints. This team is responsible for designing all graphics, banners, and publicity, collaborating closely with each committee to bring their creative visions to life transforming campus culture. The committee overseeing this team is entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining the image of the Viking.

Public Relations (PR)

The Public Relations (PR) team is instrumental leading ASG- teacher communications, feedback surveys, and ensuring that important topics to Vikings are covered in regular meetings in administration. They are also responsible to creating and executing plans to incorporate diversity throughout the school, engaging Vikings through different factors like outreach and events. Utilizing various platforms such as Instagram, daily announcements, and recap videos, PR serves as the face of our organization, ensuring that students are well-informed about the exciting events taking place on campus each week.

Media

The Media team manages all digital content regarding recaps of events, promotions, and live media during rallies and school shows. This team also experiments with consistent updates and improvements towards live streaming systems, cameras , and general media equipment, organizing all of this as well.

Clubs

This team collaborates closely with all clubs on campus, providing support in various ways. They ensure swift and proper communication with assigned clubs and their officers to inform to new polices, meetings, progress updates, and gain feedback. This committee also works with Procedurals and Finance to ensure club fundraisers and events are properly set up, along with Vizualizations to refresh the IHS Clubs Brochure and publicize important club-related information on Instagram.

Students in Action (SIA)

The SIA Team creates year-round service projects that focus on crucial challenges within our community, also maintaining consistent impact by developing short-term and long-term service initiatives. In addition to this, the SIA Team also manages logistics of beautification by establishing clear goals, timelines, and responsibilities by fundraisers and collaborating with clubs and committees to do so.

Rally

This team meticulously plans and executes all IHS rallies from start to finish with a clear vision and goal of the production, including but not limited to communicating and evaluating acts. They also organize events beyond rallies such as Mini Rallies, Blue Crew Friday, Sports Games, lunchtime activities, and spirit stations. The Rally Team collaborates with the Clubs Executive and PR Executive, along with Visualizations and Media to engage students across the campus.

tech

The Tech Committee designs, set up, and runs tech, including lighting sounds and videos to all events on campus such as rallies, club/organization shows, an and events during lunch and flex. In addition to training and communicating with tech crew to help with large events, they also communicate with the rally and media committee to expand on rally factors smoothly.

Sports

The Sports Committee provides information for sporting events, consistently communicating with different Sports Teams and their coaches/captains to plan out things such as spotlights, senior nights, and rally appearances. Especially for Senior Athletes, the Sports Committee follows through with specific events, interviews and photos for spotlights, and Senior Night celebration organization.
